With a 12 point and 20+ goal cushion over Horsham YMCA with 4 games to play (and a 15 point and 20+ goal lead over Newhaven, who had 5 to play) Chichester City went into this game knowing that, in practice, they had already won the league, but nothing is certain in football until the maths says so, so the hosts still needed a point to make sure.
