1939 photos courtesy of Britain From Above, part of English Heritage.

Note how the entrance drive to the Millhouse was from what is now the bridleway around the pond, rather than from what is now the Hyde Drive side.

 

The contemporary photo was taken in 2014 whilst the pond was drained for dam replacement and shows roughly the same angle, for comparison. Unfortunately, recent no fly zone restrictions mean that I am unable to get the better shot that my current equipment would allow.
