37 aerial photos from two locations south of Rusper
Photos taken from above the footpath from The Star to Rusper Court
The first 22 are from the top of the hill behind Cooks Mead/Millfield House and the last 15 were taken at the bottom of the hill, close to Rusper Court Cottages (off Faygate Lane). Each photo has a brief description underneath to help you get your bearings.
Cooks Mead on the left, East Street on the right, village centre just above the centre.
The school, with Cooks Mead in the foreground
Village centre, with a bonfire in the foreground!
Steeres Hill in the centre of the photo, with Gardner's Green to the left and Dial Post Park above. The footpath out to The Nunnery (and Friday Street if you take a right turn a field after Dial Post Park) can be seen going across the fields above.
A closer view of the school area
And a closer view of the village.

A higher view of the Village
East Street running left to right, the footpath behind the Plough/Playground heading down to Venters running parallel to the road a little way behind.
Normans, with East Street just visible to the left through the trees. Venters Lodge is visible close to the top left and Chowles Farm to the top right..
Lambs Green in the centre, with the Croudace site next to The Lamb Inn being the most prominent feature. The yellow fields to the top left are those west of Ifield Brook, behind the Church and east of Pound Cottages. Some features of Crawley can be made out on a high zoom, such as ICC & Crawley College. About a third of the way up the photo and close to the left hand edge is a small white house with a dead tree to it's right. I was stood just to the right of this tree for the second set of photos.
A turn to the north here and now looking due east, Lambs Green is now on the far right and the yellow fields can be seen again. A little above and to the left of the yellow fields is Crawley Industrial Estate and on the far left is the edge of the airport. Chowles Farm, at Lambs Green, is dead centre.
Looking towards the airport, and a departing plane for the eagle eyed, Normans is bottom left, Venters Lodge is virtually dead centre and the footpath from the Plough to Venters is just visible as a green stripe on the left of the photo about half way up.
A similar view to 3 or 4 photos ago, with Lambs Green just left of centre. The brown area at the top right is Kilnwood Vale.
Kilnwood Vale is now top left, and at centre left Faygate Lane appears, with the white house just above and to the right being on the junction with Lambs Green. Rusper Court Farm is just to the left of centre with Seers Croft above it to the right. Rusper Court itself is a little way in from the right.
Now looking due south, Rusper court is towards the left of the photo about halfway up. At the top of the yellow field to the top right is Roffey Park.
The Yellow field in front of Roffey Park is now top left and Baldhorns Park Farm is right of centre. On the far right is Wimlands Road. Horsham is in the distance towards the top right.
Now looking south-west, Wimlands Lane can be traced going across the photo just above centre with the dog leg by Baldhorns Park on the left and The Lodge just behind it. Above and to the right of centre is Old Park Farm with the line of the Horsham Road going into the woods on the top of Hurst Hill above. Horsham is across the top of the photo.
Old Park Farm is at the top left, and the junction of Wimlands Road and Horsham Road can be seen just below and slightly to the left. Going up the middle of the photo is the winding Horsham Road, from Gardner's Green to Dial Post Farm. The landfill at Warnham can be seen towards the top of the photo and the footpath out to The Nunnery, which is itself hidden behind the trees in the centre of the photo, appears again on the right.
The school field is bottom right and the grey area and buildings just above centre is New Barn Farm on the Capel Road. I believe that the long grey building towards the top right is the brickworks on the A24, a mile or so north of Kingsfold.
Looking north beyond the village, the Capel Road leaves the village just above centre.
Same angle as above, but a little lower.
SECOND LOCATION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL
Normans. The barn at Highams can be seen at the very top left. I am unable to work out what the building is close to the top centre, but I think it i Nutshell Farm, just before the Car Boot Sale site. I think the white building, obscured by trees to the left of Nutshell Farm is the white round building accessed by the footpath opposite the boot sale.
A similar view as previous, with a slight tilt upwards.
Looking back towards the village. The round 'paddock' (?) to the left is just above and to the right of where the first images were taken from.
The white building on the right is Millfield House and Steeres Hill is above to the left.
Dial Post Farm is 3/4 way across to the right, just above centre. The landfill and Old Park Farm can be seen towards the top left.
Baldhorn Park Farm is in the centre of the photo.
Baldhorn Park Farm is now to the right of the picture and I believe the farm above and left of centre is Coombers Farm on Wimlands Road. Horsham is beyond.
Rusper Court in the centre of the photo.
Rusper Court Farm in the foreground. Saykers & Seers Croft can be seen to the left. At the top left is Holmbush Farm on the A264.
Faygate Lane runs from bottom left to centre right and Lambs Green runs from centre left to join it at Saykers. Kilnwood Vale is in the distance.
Just to the left of centre is the Croudace yard, with The Lamb Inn just in front. The outbuildings of Stumbleholme Farm can be seen beyond with lots of Crawley in the distance. Just to the right of the yellow fields (west of Ifield Brook) a few fairways of Ifield Golf Course can be seen through a gap in the trees.
Croduace is on the far right in the centre and Chowles Farm on teh far left. At the top left is the airport (with a plane coming in to land!). I believe the large building with the big gable, just below the far left of Crawley Industrial Estate, to be Bonwycks Place on Ifield Wood.
Looking towards the airport, the Lambs Green/Burnt House Lane junction can be sene just beyond Chowles Farm, to the right of centre. The Mount is a little way behind the barn in open land in the centre of the photo.
Faygate Lane is in the line of trees from bottom right to left centre, where it joins East Street by Normanhurst.
Normans bottom right and the church top left.
