Rowfant Mill Pond
28 May 2020
Photos taken from the Bridle way that leads from The Old Hollow to the pond

Looking eastwards across the pond towards Crawley Down and East Grinstead. The tower of St Swithuns, in the centre of East Grinstead, can just be seen on the horizon, a little left of centre, when viewed in full size. The open area towards the top right is Rowfant Business Centre.

Looking south across the Sussex countryside. Rowfant Business Centre is top left and the tip of the Mill Pond is left of centre. The open area towards the top, just left of centre, is Tulleys Farm.

An westerly view towards southern Crawley. Crabbet Park is just behind the pond towards the right with Pound Hill and Crawley beyond. The college tower can just be seen in the top right corner. Maidenbower is in the centre towards the top and the motorway can be seen cutting through just to it's left.

A north westerly view towards Manor Royal & Gatwick, with the northern neighbourhoods of Crawley to the left and the Town centre top left. Crabbet Park is just behind the pond on the left. The sun is setting over Leith Hill

Looking north over Copthorne. Forge Wood is towards the top left with Gatwick beyond.

Back to an easterly view across the millpond towards Crawley Down & East Grinstead.

Now on 48mm, a bit of extra detail is visible on this easterly view. St Swithuns tower, on the horizon in the centre, is now a little clearer.

A south easterly view towards Rowfant Business Centre, in the centre towards the top. Beyond is Turners Hill, whose church can just ben see, a little to the right of the highest trees on the hill.

Looking southwards towards Tulleys Farm (the open area with buildings in the top left quarter). Towards the right, on the near horizon, is the water tower at Selsfield Common.

South-south west across Worth Forest, the Maidenbower junction of the M23 can be seen on the very far right. The large buildings just right of centre are on the Turners Hill Road just east of The Old Hollow

Looking south west across towards Maidenbower, the m23 is top left. Crabbet Park is on the far right of centre, beyond the pond, with the Holiday Inn and its large empty car park to the left of the old house. Pound Hill is beyond.

A westerly view towards Crawley Town centre, which is just to the left of centre about a quarter of the way down the picture. To the left of the town, and below a little, the tall trees behind the western goal at Three Bridges Football Club, along with the Paymaster Building, Pembroke Park and Stephenson Way are all clearly visible. Crabbet Park is now left of centre. The line of trees going left to right across the centre of the picture mark the motorway, with the northern end of Pound Hill beyond.

Looking north west towards the sun setting behind Leith Hill, with Manor Royal & Gatwick in the foreground.

A slightly blurry view towards Box Hill, north north west.

Looking north across Copthorne.

A north easterly view, with no obvious landmarks other than the north downs.

Back to an easterly view. The millpond is bottom right and St Swithuns tower can be seen in the top right.
