Roffey 3 (0) - (1) 1 Mile Oak
Southern Combination Football League Division 1
9 April 2022
Att: Approx. 40
Having gathered just two points from their last three matches and gone a goal down inside half an hour to mid table Mile Oak, title chasing Roffey appeared to be short of a bit of bottle as the season entered its final run in. With just a two point cushion over second placed Midhurst and only four games to play, a win for the hosts was vital if they are to lift the trophy in two weeks time and become a step five for the first time in their 120 year history.
For most of this game it looked like the pendulum would swing in favour of Midhurst as the hosts offered little threat to a well organised Mile Oak defence, but three goals in the last ten minutes sealed the win for Roffey and maintained their two point lead at the top of the table.
