Nutfield, Surrey and a couple of extras
17 July 2021

On Saturday 17 July 2021 I was going to Merstham to watch football (photographs from the football are here) so I decided that a short 2 or 3 mile walk around Nutfield was in order beforehand, with my normal purpose of photographing the listed buildings of the area.

On the way to Nutfield I stopped at St Johns Church, on the north east of Earlswood Common. After our walk, we also stopped briefly at Nutfield Marsh, where the Inn On the Pond is, and visited the site of Albury Manor next to the football ground, which presents the remains of a 12th or 13th century moated manor house, with both the inner and some of the outer moats still visible as earthworks. On the way home we stopped at the bronze age round barrow on Earlswood Common.
